Kaiboer (开博尔) is one of the leading brands and a manufacturers for HD media players, TV Boxes, Set Top Boxes in China. The Kaiboer products are often overlooked by overseas buyers, but that is about to change.
At the Hong Kong Electronics Fair the company introduced two new models, Kaiboer Q6 and Kaiboer C9-M, both powered by the latest Mstar (MSO9180D1R) Quad-core 64bit Cortex-A9 sollution which supports 4K decoding, 4K HDMI output, XBMC hardware decoding and is running latest Android KitKat 4.4.
Kaiboer Q6 and Kaiboer C9-M also features HDMI-in and HDMI-out ports, which is very rare on other Chinese TV box devices.

MINIX was present at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, and so was their next TV box model Neo X8.
It is the first non-Rockchip device from MINIX and it uses the latest Amlogic S802 quad-core processor with Mali-450 GPU.
The MINIX Neo X8 features 2GB DDR3 RAM, 8GB EMMc storage, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, external antenna, HDMI and S/PDIF ports, Ethernet port, 4 x USB 2.0 ports, SD card slot and IR receiver. It will also support 4K video output.
The NEO X8 runs Android 4.4 KitKat and comes preloaded with a custom MINIX Android launcher.
There will also be an higher-end model the NEO X8s, with upgraded 16GB of starage, dual WiFi and the Amlogic S802-H chip which supports Dolby Digital and DTS audio.
The MINIX NEO X8 is expected to be released end of Maj 2014.
Ainol’s latest MTK octa-core powered phablet, the Ainol (AX7) Numy Note 7 was officially unveiled at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair.
Ainol AX7 is powered by MediaTek octa-core MTK6592 CPU, clocked at 1.7GHz and Mali450-MP4. It features a 7-inch 1920 × 1200 pixel resolution IPS screen (323 PPI, OGS full lamination technology). Supports 3G talk / 3G data / dual sim dual standby / WiFi / Bluetooth 4.0 / GPS / FM and other functions. Has a 2MP front camera, light / proximity sensor, rear 5MP camera with LED light.
Ramos had a large range of Intel based Windows 8 tablets at the Hong Kong Electronic fair.
As Windows has dropped the license fees for devices under 9-inch screen size, we can only expect a flod of smaller Windows 8 tablets.
The Ramos i8 Pro is powered by Intel Bay Trail-T Z3740D processor, has 2GB of RAM, 32GB eMMC of storage, 8MP / 2MP cameras, WiFi / Bluetooth 4.0, 5280mah battery and runs Windows 8.1.
Most tablets are getting smaller but Ramos showcased that they should get bigger.
The Ramos i12c features a 11.6-inch IPS display at 1366 x 768 resolution and with a neat multi-window features it a nice multimedia device. The Ramos i12C is powered by Intel Atom Z2580 2.0GHz and is currently selling for 1599 CNY (255USD) in China.

Alldocube joins the latest phablet trend and displayed their latest 7-inch Octa-core Android phablet the Cube Talk 69 (U69GT) at the Hong Kong Electronic fair.
Cube Talk 69 features a 7-inch 1920 × 1200 pixel resolution IPS screen, MediaTek MTK8392 octa-core CPU, 2GB memory, 8MP back and 2MP front camera. The battery capacity is 2500mAh and it supports GSM / 3G WCDMA / GPS / FM / WiFi / HDMI functions.
The availability and price has not been announced yet.
Measy (美誉), one of the larger manufactures for Android media players and Android TV Stick in China, showcased their latest 4K Amlogic S802 Quad-core players the Measy B4A
at the Hong Kong Electronic fair.
Measy B4A powered by Amlogic S802 (AML8726-M8) CPU and Mali-450MP GPU and supports 4K decoding and 4K HDMI output, it runs on Android 4.4, has built-in Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi a/b/g/n, XBMC hardware decoding support, with following interfaces USB x 2, AV-out, Lan port, HDMI, optical, microSD slot, and mini USB.
The Measy B4A is currently selling at 588 CNY ($94 USD) via taobao.com.
Same device is also rebranded as Tronsmart Vega S89.
Allwinner had lots of prototypes running on their latest octa-core CPU solution at the Hong Kong Electronic fair. Judging by the lack of any branded devices, we may have to wait a month or two before we can see a mass production A80 device. on the market.
