Retina displays where introduced to Chinese Android tablets for over a year now and are becoming a standard resolution on latest high-end devices, as the CPU power constantly increases and the price for high resolution panels is getting cheaper.

Smartisan OS based on Android was released almost a year ago, and the company behind it has now launched their own phone called Smartisan T1. Specifications for the Smartisan T1 phone has finally been unveiled.
Smartisan T1 specifications:

- 4.95 inch 1080P FHD IPS JDI screen, 445ppi

Smartisan T1 will be priced at 3000 CNY (481 USD) for the 16GB version or 3150 CNY (505 USD) for the 32GB version.
The iFive mini 3GS was just released few days ago, priced at 1299 CNY (200 USD) but as the phablet price wars escalates, iFive reduced their pricing to only 999 CNY (160 USD) as of today, available via their official Tmall store.

What differs the iFive brand devices from the rest is their super slim design, well implemented Android firmware and attention to details, like minimal packing boxes, good built quality, nice accessories and the overall ascetic of the final product.
This of course comes at a higher cost, but recently with the tough competition iFive is positioning their pricing at the same lever as the other brands.

Teclast (台电) is putting on the big guns in the recent phablet wars. While others are biffing up their specs Teclast is slashing their offerings in half and putting up the Teclast P79HD 3G for amazing low price 699 CNY (112 USD) over at JD.com.
Most of all the latest phablets are using the Mediatek Octa-Core MTK6592 solution but Teclast P79HD 3G is instead powered by the Intel Dual-Core Clover Trail+ Z2580 CPU, and while most may only care about number of cores, the Z2580 has proven to have much better Android performance and stability then the mainstream Quad and Octa core solutions from Mediatek, Rockchip and Allwinner.

After the announcement of the Xiaomi Mi Pad tablet which is powered by the Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, many tablet brands are now comparing their products against the not yet released Mi Pad to cool down the hype.

Meizu is setting up a sub brand called Biger (笔戈) to launch new and “bigger” sized products to compete with brands like Xiaomi, which now have offerings for most of the online devices in once household.
Are we to expect, a Meizu tablet, Meizu TV and Meizu TV box? Or should we call it Biger tablet, Biger TV?
