Ainol announced their first Octa-core phablet last week, and is taking pre-orders from today May 19th at discounted price. The product retail price is set to 999 CNY (160 USD) but goes for 899 CNY (145 USD) during the pre-sale period between 05.19 – 05.25.

AX Flame has a 2 megapixel front and 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, light / proximity sensor.
The Ainol AX Flame is identical on specs with the Ainol (AX7) Numy Note 7, that was displayed at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, apart from the smaller RAM size of 1GB.

After the announcement of the Xiaomi Mi Pad tablet which is powered by the Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, many tablet brands are now comparing their products against the not yet released Mi Pad to cool down the hype.
And so have the chip maker Allwinner done, by posting the image bellow via their Weibo page. The image is comparing the Allwinner A80 octa-core vs. Nvidia Tegra K1 to illustrate why A80 is better suited for a powerful gaming Android tablet. The fight is on!

Meizu is setting up a sub brand called Biger (笔戈) to launch new and “bigger” sized products to compete with brands like Xiaomi, which now have offerings for most of the online devices in once household.
Are we to expect, a Meizu tablet, Meizu TV and Meizu TV box? Or should we call it Biger tablet, Biger TV?
A new website at www.bigertech.com has been set up with a counter and new products are to be announced on 26th of May.

It has been six weeks since the announcement of the Teclast X98, a 9.7-inch Android tablet with a speedy 64-bit Quad-core Intel Bay Trail-T CPU. There is a wide range of Intel based Android tablets on the market today, but only two tablet models (the other being Onda V975i) are powered by the more powerful Quad-core version Intel Atom Z3735D.

The second smart TV was unveiled at Xiaomi’s launch event in Beijing with a nice surprice. The Xiaomi TV 2 is a 49-inch 4K with Android (MIUI) built-in for only 3999 CNY / 640 USD!!
The Xiaomi TV 2 has 4K 3D panel from LG, with a 6,2 mm aluminum bezel. Powered by Mstar 6A918 quad-core CPU and Mali-450 MP4 GPU, comes with 2GB of RAM and 8GB flash storage, plus a microSD slot for storage extension.
The Mi TV2 have some other interesting features like, a Bluetooth remote istead of old IR version, an external audio bar and wireless Bluetooth subwoofer.
Earlier today Xiaomi (小米) announced their first Android tablet the Mi Pad.
The Mi Pad features a 7.9-inch (2048 x 1536) display, powered by NVIDIA Tegra K1 quad-core processor, clocked at 2.2GHz, with 2GB of RAM, 16GB / 64GB high-speed flash memory, support expansion with up to 128GB microSD card. It has a 8 megapixel back and 5 megapixel front camera, a 6700mAh battery with quick charge function, 3.5 hours to fully charge and high-decibel dual stereo speakers.
16GB version priced at 1,499 CNY (240 USD)
64GB version is priced 1,699 CNY (270 USD)

Meizu is finally braking the “one phone a year” tradition and unofficial reports mention 3 possible Meizu MX4 editions to hit the market already August.
Two screen variants of the Meizu MX4 are expected, one with 5.5-inch at 1536 x 2560 pixel resolution, and one 5-inch at 1920 x 1080 pixels. The mentioned processors for the MX4 are MediaTek MT6595 chipset, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM and the Samsung Exynos 5430.
The MX4 models could be named and prices as follow:
Meizu MX4 Pro at 2999 CNY / 481 USD
Meizu MX4G at 2499 CNY / 400 USD
Meizu MX4 Uni at 1999 CNY / 320 USD
There has been some talk about a possible fingerprint sensor on one of the MX4 models.
There are no images of the Meizu MX4 and the image above is just fan art version, non of the mentioned specs or prices are confirmed so we expect more details to be unveiled soon.
We reported earlier on Kaiboer’s coming 4K players the Q6 and C9-M, powered by a new Quad-core Mstar CPU the MSO 9180D1R, which offers 4K hardware decoding, HDMI-in port and support for XBMC.
Ahead of the scheduled Kaiboer event which is to be held on May 21th, i got the chance to test the Kaiboer Q9 (开博尔Q9) which uses the same MSO 9180D1R CPU.
The Kaiboer C9 is the larger TV box model and supports internal SATA 3.5 hard drives, it has the following ports; 1 x USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, HDMI-in, HDMI-out, LAN port, mircoSD slot, optical out, coaxial out, RCA audio out and YPbPr video output.
Kaiboer Q9 is currently running a custom version of Android 4.3 called KIUI 7, but the manufacturer is working on a Android 4.4 KitKat update. The Q9 is currently selling for 1999 CNY / 320 USD on Tmall, but price should drop one official release.
