Five technology, a Shenzhen-based tablet manufacturer which has been quiet for a very long time, announced its new flagship Android tablet: the ifive Pro 2 on its officical website.

The ifive Pro 2 features a 9.7-inch IPS Retina display at 2048*1536, and is powered by the Rockchip RK3288 quad-core processor, 4GB RAM. Besides, the slate also has a 5-contact keyboard port, a USB Type-C port as well as a fingerprint reader.

When it comes to the optics, the tablet also stands out with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

The ifive has a metallic structure and a rear side made of artificial leather, which gives the tablet a premium look. As ifive has always been known for the build quality of their products, the ifive Pro 2 should deliver in that department. However, as promising as the ifive Pro2’s other specs might appear, the dated RK3288 chipset is a strange choice for such a high-end tablet.

Five technology hasn’t revealed the price and the release date of this tablet yet.

Attractive hardware but the usual questions about reflectance, battery duration and reliable WLAN range remain. Too bad it is not Windows.
