May, 29th, PIPO released a revolutionary product – the PIPO X8, a Mini PC with a 7-inch IPS capacitive screen.
With an IPS display and a touchscreen on top, the X8 mini PC has the functions of a tablet. Even when it is not connected to your TV, monitor, projector or input devices, you can still perform some operations on it with your fingers.
The X8 offers all kinds of connectivity options, besides the built-in WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, it also features a slew of ports and slots, including an RJ45 Ethernet port, an HDMI ouput, 4 full USB2.0 ports, a Micro USB port, a Micro SD card slot, a DC-12V port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The X8 also has a power/standby key and a physical volume rocker.
The PIPO X7 is powered by the Intel Bay-trail Z3736F quad-core processor with a base clock of 1.33GHZ and a Turbo clock of 2.16GHZ, as well as 2GB RAM. It also has 32GB eMMc internal storage. So performance-wise, it won’t be too different from the PIPO X7, which was released by the end of last year (Check our review here: PIPO X7 hands-on review – More mini PC than TV box) . The X8 Box has both Android 4.4 and Windows 8.1 preinstalled, the users can switch between the two operating systems like they do with those Dual OS tablets.
The 32GB version of the X8 is priced at RMB599 ($97), and will hit the market next month.
